For his extraordinary new book, Days of Love and Rage, the veteran foreign correspondent Anand Gopal spent seven years conducting over 2,000 interviews to reconstruct 18 months of revolution in the Syrian city of Manbij. He did so through a pioneering model of collective journalism, built with dozens of Syrian colleagues. Gopal joins Equator’s Krithika Varagur to talk about his reporting process, cross-border collaboration and taking people’s political lives seriously.
